GOMEET SAFETY & SUPPORT GUIDELINES

Version: 1.1
Last Updated: October 20, 2026

These Safety & Support Guidelines (the “Guidelines”) are designed to help you stay safe when using Gomeet—whether you are sending dining invitations, chatting, verifying your account, meeting in person, blocking, reporting, or seeking customer support.

These Guidelines apply in conjunction with the Gomeet Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and other related platform policies.

1. DINING INVITATIONS

Gomeet allows you to send dining invitations to other users.

Depending on available features, an invitation may include:

  • Sender information;

  • Recipient information;

  • Selected restaurant or venue;

  • Proposed dishes or cuisine;

  • Proposed date and time;

  • Other relevant details.

The recipient has the absolute right to accept or decline any invitation at their sole discretion, without providing any explanation.

You must not:

  • Spam dining invitations;

  • Repeatedly resend invitations after the recipient has declined;

  • Create fake or deceptive invitations;

  • Use invitations as a means of harassment;

  • Use invitations to scam, solicit money, or demand fund transfers;

  • Pressure, coerce, or guilt-trip others into accepting;

  • Misuse the invitation feature for unlawful purposes or activities inconsistent with Gomeet’s mission.

Receiving or accepting an invitation does not obligate either party to continue chatting or proceed with an in-person meetup.

2. MEETUP RULES & IN-PERSON CODE OF CONDUCT

An in-person meetup should only take place when both parties give free, mutual, and voluntary consent.

You always have the right to:

  • Change your mind at any time;

  • Decline or call off a meetup;

  • Cancel plans;

  • Leave a meetup whenever you choose;

  • End a conversation;

  • Block or report the other person.

No one has the right to pressure you into continuing a meetup or maintaining contact.

If you are unable to attend a scheduled meetup, you should proactively notify the other person or reschedule in advance. While simply not showing up is not automatically classified as a policy violation, if "no-showing" is part of a broader pattern of harassment, fraud, or system abuse, Gomeet reserves the right to review and take disciplinary action.

During an in-person meetup, you must not:

  • Harass, bully, or intimidate;

  • Threaten harm or violence;

  • Coerce or manipulate;

  • Apply sexual pressure or engage in non-consensual sexual advances;

  • Demand or pressure the other person to transfer money or pay against their will;

  • Force the other person to change venues or relocate to private settings;

  • Force or pressure the other person to stay against their will;

  • Follow, tail, or stalk the other person after the meetup;

  • Use physical violence;

  • Engage in any behavior that endangers the safety, health, or well-being of others.

3. ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

Gomeet uses verification tools to help reduce fake accounts, deter impersonation, and enhance transparency within our community.

Verification is a supportive safety tool. It does not guarantee that a user is trustworthy, nor does it eliminate all risks associated with meeting them in real life.

3.1. How Does Gomeet Verify Accounts?

Our current verification workflow may include:

  • Email address verification;

  • A verification selfie manually reviewed by authorized Gomeet personnel.

Email verification merely confirms that the user has access to the provided email address.

For selfies, Gomeet currently does not cross-reference or match photos against citizen identity cards (CCCD), government-issued photo IDs, passports, driver’s licenses, or other official identity credentials.

3.2. What Does the “Verified” Badge Mean?

When an account successfully completes the verification process, Gomeet may award a: [Verified Badge]

This badge signifies solely that the account has completed Gomeet’s internal verification workflow designed to help confirm that a real human being operates the account.

The badge DOES NOT mean that Gomeet has verified or authenticated:

  • Legal identity;

  • Full legal name;

  • Official date of birth;

  • Physical residential address;

  • Employment or profession;

  • Criminal history or background checks;

  • Personal character or trustworthiness;

  • Future intentions or conduct;

  • The absolute safety of an in-person meetup.

The Verified Badge is not an official identity document, a background check, or an endorsement/guarantee by Gomeet of any user.

3.3. Re-Verification, Refusal, and Revocation of the Badge

Gomeet reserves the right to request re-verification, reject verification requests, or revoke an existing badge upon reasonable grounds, including but not limited to:

  • The submitted selfie is blurry, dark, or indistinct;

  • The photo belongs to someone else;

  • Signs of photo manipulation, filters, or forgery;

  • Indications that the account is engaging in impersonation;

  • Suspicion that the account has been transferred, sold, or shared with third parties;

  • Significant changes to core profile details;

  • User reports related to verification integrity;

  • Detection of suspicious or anomalous account activity;

  • Prior verification results are deemed no longer reliable.

A request to re-verify does not automatically imply that your account has violated our policies.

3.4. Prohibition of Verification Fraud

You must not:

  • Submit someone else’s selfie;

  • Use photos sourced from the internet;

  • Submit digitally altered or manipulated images to deceive the review process;

  • Use artificial intelligence (AI), deepfakes, or synthetic media to fabricate a false identity;

  • Have another individual verify on your behalf;

  • Attempt to bypass or circumvent the verification workflow;

  • Misrepresent the badge to lead others to believe that Gomeet has authenticated your legal identity.

Verification fraud may result in:

  • Immediate rejection of verification;

  • Revocation of the Verified Badge;

  • Account restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination.

3.5. Verified Accounts Can Still Be Reported

You can still block or report any account, even if it displays a “Verified” badge.

Having a Verified Badge does not prevent Gomeet from investigating allegations of:

  • Impersonation;

  • Fraud and scams;

  • Harassment;

  • Stalking;

  • Threats and intimidation;

  • Inappropriate sexual content;

  • Any other community violations.

Never ignore warning signs or red flags simply because an account holds a Verified Badge.
(For details on how selfie and verification data are stored and handled, please refer to the Gomeet Privacy Policy.)

4. IN-PERSON SAFETY TIPS

When meeting someone you connected with through Gomeet—especially during the initial meetups—you should proactively take sensible precautions.

Gomeet strongly recommends that you:

  • Meet in public places: Choose populated, well-lit venues such as busy restaurants, cafes, or public eateries;

  • Inform friends or family: Share your plans, including the venue, expected duration, and the person’s profile details, with someone you trust;

  • Control your own transportation: Arrange your own ride to and from the venue; do not rely on your date to pick you up or drop you off;

  • Decide when to leave: Maintain full autonomy over when you wish to end the meetup;

  • Protect private details: Do not prematurely disclose your home address, workplace, or personal daily routines;

  • Guard sensitive credentials: Never disclose passwords, One-Time Passwords (OTPs), or security codes;

  • Protect financial information: Never share bank account details, credit card numbers, or unnecessary financial data;

  • Never transfer money: Do not send money, wire funds, or lend money to someone you recently met online, regardless of the reason given;

  • Stay vigilant with venue changes: Exercise extreme caution if asked to relocate to an isolated, private, or unfamiliar location;

  • Leave immediately if uncomfortable: If you feel uneasy, unsafe, or pressured, trust your instincts and remove yourself from the situation right away;

  • Use blocking and reporting: Utilize Gomeet’s blocking and reporting features whenever necessary.

These recommendations apply equally even if the person you are meeting possesses a “Verified” badge.

Emergency situations: If you face an immediate threat to your physical safety, health, or personal security, your top priority must be to exit the danger zone and contact local emergency services or law enforcement immediately.

5. BLOCKING

If you no longer wish to interact with another user, you can use the in-app Block feature.

Once an account is blocked, Gomeet may enforce restrictions such as:

  • Preventing further messaging between the accounts;

  • Disabling the ability to send or receive invitations;

  • Restricting mutual profile visibility;

  • Preventing profiles from appearing to each other in Nearby discovery.

Gomeet does not notify the blocked user of the identity of the person who blocked them.

Blocking does not replace reporting. If an incident involves harassment, fraud, threats, or safety concerns, you should also submit a formal report so that Gomeet can investigate and take appropriate platform-level action.

6. REPORTING AND VIOLATION HANDLING

You can submit a report regarding:

  • User accounts;

  • Inappropriate profiles or photos;

  • Chat messages;

  • Photos or videos sent in chat;

  • Dining invitations;

  • Fake accounts or impersonation;

  • Fraud, financial scams, or solicitation;

  • Harassment or bullying;

  • Stalking or non-consensual tracking;

  • Threats of violence;

  • Inappropriate sexual or explicit content;

  • Privacy violations;

  • Misconduct or harmful behavior during real-world meetups;

  • Other issues arising from the use of Gomeet.

Reports may include:

  • A factual description of the incident;

  • Relevant screenshots;

  • Photos or video evidence;

  • Chat excerpts;

  • Any other pertinent supporting materials.

6.1. How Does Gomeet Review Reports?

On a case-by-case basis, Gomeet evaluates:

  • The report narrative;

  • Evidence submitted by the reporter;

  • Relevant chat records and message logs;

  • User profiles and account telemetry;

  • Historical violations and account track record;

  • The severity and frequency of the conduct;

  • The contextual circumstances;

  • The potential risk posed to the broader community.

Please note: Submitting a report does not automatically guarantee that punitive action will be taken against the reported account.

6.2. Actions Gomeet May Take

Depending on the nature, context, and severity of the violation, Gomeet may:

  • Take no action (if evidence is insufficient or no violation occurred);

  • Issue an official warning;

  • Require the user to modify or remove offending content;

  • Restrict specific features (e.g., messaging or sending invitations);

  • Restrict user interactions;

  • Require account re-verification;

  • Revoke the Verified Badge;

  • Temporarily suspend the account;

  • Lock the account pending review;

  • Permanently terminate/ban the account.

In cases involving severe safety risks or imminent harm, Gomeet may enforce provisional protective measures prior to completing the full investigation.

6.3. False Reporting and Abuse of the Report Tool

You must not intentionally abuse the reporting feature to:

  • Seek revenge or retaliation;

  • Harass other users;

  • Submit fabricated or misleading information;

  • Cause undue harm or nuisance to others;

  • Manipulate the platform’s review and moderation workflows.

A report submitted in good faith that lacks sufficient evidence or does not result in disciplinary action is not considered a false report.

7. APPEALS AND SUPPORT

If you disagree with an enforcement decision taken by Gomeet, and that decision is eligible for appeal, you may submit a request for reconsideration.

Decisions that may be eligible for appeal include:

  • Official warnings;

  • Feature restrictions;

  • Temporary account suspensions;

  • Account locks;

  • Denial of verification;

  • Revocation of the Verified Badge.

An appeal submission should include:

  • Your registered email address or account details;

  • The specific decision you wish to contest;

  • Clear grounds and rationale for reconsideration;

  • Additional supporting evidence or documentation (if available).

If your appeal pertains to account verification, Gomeet may request that you submit a new selfie or complete the verification workflow again.

Following review, Gomeet may:

  • Uphold the original decision;

  • Modify the enforcement measure;

  • Overturn and lift the decision;

  • Request additional clarifying information;

  • Require account re-verification.

If you require assistance or wish to file an appeal, please contact our Support team via contact@gomeet.info.
